Shifu Tenshin Arakawa is head teacher at the Tenshin Ryushin-Ji Buddhist Temple which is a Prayer & Meditation Center designed to house various Buddhist related Martial Arts & Science Systems, Holistic Arts & Sciences as well as the Study of Yogic Principles. All Programs, as well as Temple functions such as scheduled Prayer & Meditation sessions, Spiritual guidance, are under the direction of Tenshin Arakawa, Shifu & Senior Monk. Arakawa, Sensei has over 50 years of experience and has studied under the guidance of Masters from around the globe.
In 1996, Mitsugi Arakawa, Sensei received 'Precepts of Rites of Ordination' into the Order of the Chen Yen Shingon Mikkyo-'Mi Ching'. He served the Kongoryu-Ji's head Priest , 'Roku-Ban Tomio No Otomo' for a number of years until he was asked to head his own Temple in the United States, as Senior Monk. In doing so, after special request by Mitsugi Arakawa, Sensei to the Buddhist Council, was the first 'Hoshi' (Monk of Chinese-Ryukyuan Lineage, 'Roshi' Monk of either Ryukyuan-Japanese or Japanese mainland Lineage) in affiliation to be granted full Independent status, due to his vast experience of attainment over the past 48 years of study. After accepting the position of Senior Monk, a Sanction for a Prayer & Mediation Temple (not a Ritual Temple) was awarded him bearing the name ' Tenshin Ryushin-Ji ' Buddhist Temple. As Senior Monk, His Temple name of Ordination was changed from 'Mitsugi Arakawa', to 'Tenshin Arakawa, Shifu' (Master Father) Shichi-Ban Tomio No Otomo.
